Event
9th IRLA World Congress
Every five years, the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA) organizes a World Congress to bring together academics, practitioners, and activists in the field of religious liberty.
This international event, held August 21-23, 2023, near Washington DC, will celebrate 130 of advocacy, and will focus on the theme of "Freedom of Religion or Belief: A Wholistic Understanding of a Pivotal Human Right." With a range of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops, the Congress will offer a unique opportunity to explore the challenges facing religious freedom in today's world and to identify practical solutions for promoting and protecting this fundamental human right.
We promote the freedom to believe, or not to believe, as defined by Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We believe religious freedom is a foundational human right, which is intimately connected with all other human rights.
